It's quick to hear how much of a challenge class registration on campus. Since every student is required to find, plan, and register for classes, why is it so difficult? Listening to the student's experiences and breaking down the existing process lead to a much smoother, easy to understand process.
Understanding the Problem
The Current Process
What students register classes now, they need to jump through numerous steps, pages. This is an uphill battle for the new freshmen.

Hearing from the students
I heard many different thoughts from students, some positive, some negative. Both of which was essential to creating an insightful solution.
What did I learn?
Difficult to understand the interface.
Needing multiple tabs open or paper and pencil.
Needlessly complex to register.
“While the newer registration is a lot easier, the registration process in general causes so much stress for a lot of students”
“Overall, I find class registration tedious and time consuming.”
“It has gotten better since the last registration process, but now I have to relearn everything and it is hard to see what is going on.”
Overall, I have an okay experience with registering. I've done it many times, so it isn't too difficult, but I don't feel comfortable doing it on my phone (I feel like I will miss something).
Developing Something New
Everyone's different, so are their registration habits
After hearing a professor's perspective on advising students, I explored student archetypes based on factors that they have seen major differences in: organization and motivation.
Which one are you?

Building from small atoms and molecules...

To large scale organisms and pages

Visualizing how classes fit into your day
Making use of a simple weekly visual to fit classes in, students have a much friendlier and straight forward way to add, delete, and understand classes for the coming semester.

Mobile Compatibility
For registration on the go, optimization for mobile devices was crucial. To adapt to the small screen, the large calendar view had to be condensed, and put into it's own overlay.
